AB III makes US debut at #17 on Billboard, #6 on iTunes
MTV announced today that AB III debuted in its first week at #17 on the Billboard 200 album chart, with about 28,000 copies sold. The album also stormed the iTunes charts, peaking at #2 before settling at #6 for the week as a whole. Not bad for an album that has had little promotion in the US, and from which the lead single "Isolation" has only begun to rise up the charts (now at #9 according to mediabase).
Creed offshoot Alter Bridge has a solid debut at #17 with AB III (28,000), while rapper Twista is further down the list at #42 with the debut of his latest, Perfect Storm (14,000).
It's all about Cudi on the iTunes album chart, as Mr. Rager took the top spot, followed by Swift, Cee Lo, Aldean, and Mumford & Sons, whose Sigh No More continues its iTunes domination. Alter Bridge comes in at #6, beating out Bon Jovi, Boyle, Kings of Leon's Come Around Sundown and Katy Perry's Teenage Dream.
